Paradise Theatre

There's some pretty stiff competition going on the week of February 21st, 1981.

You had number five, Paradise Theater from Styx.

Number four, Crimes of Passion by Pat Benatar.

Number three, The Jazz Singer soundtrack from Neil Diamond.

This reminds me of when I was a very young lad, we...

One of the first records we got was, um, Paradise Theater by Styx, and it had [laughs] if you held it up to the light, it had some stuff going on.

Cool.

So that's what's happening here.

And I remember it was really cool because I had sort of a hologram etched into the vinyl as a collector's kind of thing.

The album is called Paradise Theater, and it's a conceptual piece about the rise and fall of the golden age of show business.

And it's very reminiscent in my mind of sabotage as well.

And I believe John Oliva of Sabotage in later years has said, oh, yeah, that was a big influence on him.

This is not going to be a regular thing.

So let's do it.

Paradise Theater right here on JP's 41st anniversary of Megawatt Mayhem.

Tonight's the night we'll make history.

Styx has sold more than 54 million albums worldwide.

Paradise Theater is the top seller with nearly 3.2 million sales.
