Paradise

I'll tell you the original name of the movie, which was the name of the screenplay that won the Austin Film Festival and sort of kicked off this whole production being possible.

The original name was Paradise.

That was based on the John Prine song of the same name, which is about a young boy coming back to eastern Kentucky in that case and finding that the town that he grew up in is gone because the coal company has gone through and pit mined the whole thing.

So it's kind of this very tragic song and it was very inspiring to me when I wrote this story because West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky share that history of the coal companies leveling huge parts of the mountains.
