Paradigm

They represent a total shift in approach.

They were Paradigm shifts.

Anesthesia represents the shift from speed to precision.

Antibiotics moved us from treating the symptoms to the cause.

Stop the average person on the street or maybe somebody, a relative or a friend that you're talking to in the next phone call.

Say, do you know what a paradigm is? Ask them to explain it to you.

Paradigm's a very, very broad word.

Do you know that countries have paradigms? Countries do.

Families do.

The company you're working for has a paradigm.

And I have one and so do you.

Paradigm is a conditioning.

Whereas an agent, most times they go, what have you done lately? What made money for the studios, and how can we...

branch out from there because of what you can offer and that's it I had an agent at CAA for like five years because they went from Paradigm to CAA and also the agent for James Wan and Lee Winnell and David Sandberg so anything that I was getting I knew that it was passed over at least three times you know but I would even say to them it's like I don't even know if you know my work enough to say like oh Joe's perfect for it he bullshit.

Whereas the manager is the one who's like, I read a couple, I know you wouldn't like these.

So I didn't even, you know, like send them your way.

Prediction market app Kalshi turns virtually everything into a wager: sports, elections, reality TV, and national policy, like how many deportations the Trump administration will carry out this year.

The data firm Paradigm estimates that $173 billion has been bet on the site this year, and about $5 billion of that was wagered by teenagers and young adults under 21.

Critics of prediction markets say Kalshi and Polymarket have effectively lowered the gambling age in the U.S. from 21 to 18, and that's because the companies insist they are not gambling operators but a type of financial investment known as an events contract.

Kalshi says it has deposit limits and other internal safeguards for its youngest users.

It would be too much.

But even getting past either or of those words, I feel like with Paradigm, he was opening up beyond that.

But I think it's very hard for us to do that.

And so, for example, his work even, it starts getting lumped into one side.
