Parade

I'm happy with how the Giants have started to round out the season here at the end.

Fortunately, it came at the expense of the Parades a couple of times, but that's okay.

San Diego at Colorado.

San Diego takes three out of four.

I found out later, and I might have already shared this, but Frank Rios, who still works there, works in scheduling in Adventureland.

I didn't have shifts at Parades or Fantasmic for months.

And I'm like, I haven't had one because I hated them both.

And a manager goes, oh, yeah, Frank takes those off your schedule.

Yeah, so this is part of the compromise, right? So the artistic element that you mentioned, that's in the selection of music, composing new music or arranging new music to make sure that the themes and the flow overall is correct.

But when we come to the execution of it, and with, you know, you've got 200 plus musicians on Horse Guards Parade, they will be listening to the bass drum who is maintaining it for the troops because the pace has to be right because they are marching around the outside.

And the cutoffs, for each piece, so the indicator to finish one piece, move to the next, will be given by cue from the drum major, who is not a musician by trade, and the bass drummer.

So the drum major, is the drum major the person who stands at the front with an enormously long stick and throws it up into the air sometimes?

sorry, I should have been clear.

So, for instance, even on The Tripping of the Colour, as the conductor, you will come forwards every so often, but the bulwark is on drum major.

So, in your day-to-day work with a band, if you're doing, you know, Changing with the Guard, if you're on Parade, you will be conducting the music.

But that was a kind of example we were talking about earlier.

I know they've got the community center pretty much done, but we'll check in with Troy just after 7.30. Yeah,

they've got the Fall Parade of Homes coming up, too, so I imagine he'll be talking about that and letting us know the hours and the homes available.

And it's West Fest this weekend.

Thursday looks dry for the last cruise night and 72 should be good for that.

Friday, slight chance of rain there.

And 70 Saturday for the West Fest Parade, 70 degrees as well.

So not too shabby for the middle of September.

They didn't specifically say that Stars on the Parade was getting replaced, but basically, I mean, that's the idea.

This is going to be the main parade.

No, completely new.

You play your grand final.

And on Monday, you have a Premier's Parade.

and everyone comes into the city, the economic stimulus that that would bring is a multiple, so much more than what we're doing at the moment.

So when the AFL wants the state government and everyone else to invest into things that we need to do, you've got to give a bit back.

I think Jordan obviously gives that help.

But Parades has got to step up.

I mean, where is Cam Smith? He is very up and down.

Where is Christian Walker in all this, rolling over, popping up stuff? Altuve, is he ever going to scoot up? He seems to get further and further away from the plate.

And that year, there were 350 entries, including horses, cattle, sheep, swine, poultry, crops, dairy products, fruit, vegetables... baking and handmade work two years later the agricultural society bought seven acres at the present fairgrounds an exhibition hall and stock pens were built and the fair has been held there ever since so this year's 172nd harrow fair Runs this weekend through the 6th with the theme Tractors and Tailgates.

So expect the Midway and events, the Pie Auction, the Parade, and live shows.

So all this weekend, including Adam Butcher, Kelsey Main, the Roadhammers, all will be there.
