Paraclete

It reinforces the, uh, the God is this sort of like electricity or gravity, this unseen power that's there somewhere but deeply impersonal.

And we have a, a living tradition of preaching that refers to our Redeemer, the Savior, our Lord, our Blessed Lord, the Father, the Paraclete, the Consoler, that the divine persons have names that are used in the tradition, and that we should preach, for lack of a better term, doxologically or in a Trinitarian fashion so that we're not always just talking generically about, quote, unquote, "God." It's true, but, but not always helpful, and I think it reinforces an impersonal deity.

And I think a lot of people live this way without reflecting on it.

They live in a world where God's this kind of force, like the management You know, who's, or the administration who's watching us-

O Lord, deliver us.

Through the coming of the Holy Ghost, the Paraclete,

O Lord, deliver us.

In the day of judgment.

Well, they become essentially what Eric Vogelin... called the Paracletic sectarian leader, Paraclete being, of course, the indwelling of divine presence.

We know it, as Christians, as the Holy Spirit, but from the Emanitus Gnostic vantage point, it's the indwelling of...

It's God, basically, as man himself.

Ezekiel 36, 26-27 See also, the Psalm 51 created me a clean heart, O God, and renewed a right spirit within me.

Only a new heart, full of the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Pentecost, of the Comforter, the Paraclete, that remains in the Church and illuminates the believers, only such a heart can truly commune without hypocrisy and share of one's suffering neighbor.

When this spirit of the Pentecost conquers us, it fills us with a divine emotion and a sanctified desire to actually become participants in our brother or sister's travail.

Then we disregard everything and rush to share the pain of our neighbor, to suffer with him, to assist and become communicants of his sufferings.
