I'm curious, Luke, where you even see the hand of God in you ending up at Nebraska.

I mean, you grew up in Nebraska, a Papillion kid, but the other schools that were interested in you were maybe some smaller non-Power Four schools.

You make the decision to walk on to Nebraska.

So those are probably the two people that I really remember.

Allison Weston was from Papillion, of course, and back then the radio network consisted of one station.

And at night the signal would shrink to just the city's perimeter, and on road matches, Allison's parents would drive from Papillion to the Waverly exit, leave their car running in the gas station there, and listen to the entire match.

Mm-hmm.

But it gives you an idea of the scale the facility is being engineered to handle.

Papillion is a different story.

Google's established Papillion facility reported consuming five hundred and forty-eight million gallons approximately in twenty twenty-five.

That's roughly eight hundred and thirty Olympic swimming pools, or roughly two point three swimming pools every day.

Papillion's municipal water system pumps an average of about five point five million gallons a day, roughly eight point four Olympic pools.

So Google's reported daily consumption is equivalent to about twenty-seven percent of Papillion's average daily municipal water production.

That doesn't necessarily mean Google consumes twenty-seven percent of the city's water, because the figures may not represent precisely the same water sources and flows, but it gives you a sense of the scale.

Now, Nebraska has experienced drought conditions and some groundwater depletion, but there's no evidence that these Google facilities currently threaten the state's water supply.

It's time to live it up again.
