Paperwork Reduction Act

It doesn't give us context over what's specifically in the rule, but we have seen right now that just last week, OIRA had the next four rules for the RFO were posted into their review.

So one thing I'll mention is that OIRA is partly in charge of enforcing the Paperwork Reduction Act, but also partly in charge of implementing what's called Executive Order 12866, which was a President Clinton executive order, which is amazing it's still sticking around, but essentially that's what gives OIRA the regulatory review power.

And with that, it both sends it across interagency to have interagency comments on all regulations before they're public, but also provides the public a chance to present their concerns and feelings of the industry directly to the White House staff.

And so that's called a 12866 meeting.

And it means that we have to put together a proposal for a rule or a change or a withdrawal, whatever we're doing.

We have to support it in detail, not only the merits and the securities law part of it, but we do an economic analysis, and we do other analyses that have crept in over time, Paperwork Reduction Act, and a whole bunch of other things that are required.

So we put out for a proposal something like 300 pages, and that goes out to the market.

Historically, the way that always happened was it would go out, and a law firm like yourself would receive that.

I think just in terms of timing, they can't make it a requirement to start immediately.

It's something they need to do through a regulation, needs to go through the Paperwork Reduction Act approval.

So that's why I feel like they could still be making it permanent or propose to make it permanent through the next rule that comes out.

This gives them a way to start sooner.

It was like this very kind of like clear, um, distinction.

But anyways, procurement, I mean, the Paperwork Reduction Act, which basically says you need to like go through a process with OMB and a public posting with comments every time you want to solicit information from the public, you know, including major semiconductor companies.

[chuckles] Hundreds of hours working on the Paperwork, uh, Reduction Act.

So it's not reducing paperwork is what I hear you saying.

There's a lot of bookkeeping.

And I must say that my own preference is Paperwork Reduction Act.

And, you know, I like less bookkeeping these days in my games rather than more.

And, you know, in talking about whether it's Modiphius' 2D20 or even against the Dark Master, I don't believe either one of those games has a lot of bookkeeping.
