She actually met Brooks Marks while she was at NYU.

After graduating, she worked at Paper Magazine and eventually became its beauty director.

She was also involved in their like digital and social, including Paper's Snapchat show, which was called Snatural.

Around 2021, she started gaining traction on TikTok through her beauty content, her makeup content, her get ready with me's.

And that is how she became like the social media Amira that we met today.

Yes, it is interesting.

But a lot of people, the biggest critique came from her interview with Paper Magazine where she was the front cover for it.

And everybody was talking about like, it is very revealing that she definitely has the mindset of a 13-year-old.

And the mindset of a 13-year-old who understands that her parents are some of the most, if not the most famous people in the world.

but i do want it though it looks really nice um and i do i started listening to a new podcast that dropped literally today i'm not through the episode yet and they're going to talk about next gen i guess in the latter half but it's called so chic very chic It is hosted by Joan Summers, the former senior editor at Paper Magazine, who did a weekly column called So Chic, Very Chic about Bravo fashions.

Oh, fun.

So it's hybrid Bravo recap show plus fashion assessment show where they go through literally character by character and talk about what they wore.

I think a lot of you are probably listening to this podcast, So Chic Very Chic, because a few weeks ago I made an announcement that I'd be leaving my job at Paper Magazine as the senior editor, where for about four years I ran a little column by the very same title, So Chic Very Chic, in which I ruthlessly, viscerally, effervescently, and quite charismatically ripped apart the Bravo fashion sphere.

Every single week I'd go through everything the Real Housewives were wearing, everything the Vanderpump Rules cast were wearing.

Remember Vanderpump Rules? Well, it used to be on television, and I used to cover it.

But you can sort of see that like the interest in having a big butt is climbing in this like the most extreme way you could get one.

That's the year of that very famous Kim Kardashian cover on Paper Magazine, like the break the Internet cover where she's, you know, she's got the bottle of champagne and it's going on to her like in an arch over her back onto her butt.

And that was a kind of callback to a photograph of Grace Jones from the 70s.

Also that year, that song All About the Bass came

So although, you know, the first couple of times I applied to CFDA, I applied a couple of times and I was kind of rejected, which is fine.

But CFDA and Paper Magazine actually gave me a huge break.

In 2000, they picked a handful of designers to show at New York Fashion Week.

And the co-sponsor for that show, and this wasn't a group show, it was individual shows.

So, you know, my first show was in the tents, right? It was wonderful.

And CFDA and Paper gave me that opportunity.

The sponsor for the show was Reebok.

After the show, the new marketing director for Reebok came to me and said, would you be interested in doing something with us? And the term at that time wasn't really collaborations.
