Pantun

I don't know.

I recently picked up this wonderful book on Pantun Melayu.

It was a manuscript found in an archive in Portugal.

And it is written by somebody from the mixed race community in Batavia or Jakarta.

It

is a fascinating mishmash of things.

And there's this incredible poem about, it's called, I can't remember the name exactly, but for example, there's this incredible poem about Pantun, about a girl from Pagu, Burma.

Myanmar just freshly landed in Batavia or Jakarta she ends up marrying a Chinese jeweler he's described as a Chinese jeweler then she disappears and he goes looking for her And she's run away because she's got pregnant.
