We've talked to a number of officials across the political spectrum, but attorneys general occupy a really unique space in our system, and that role has in- increased in its importance over the past few years with the prolific use of executive orders by the executive branch of our federal government, um, with the way that the federal government has used its resources against states, and the pushback that attorneys general have had to those efforts.
Beth SilversHOST
1:25
So I'm really excited that Attorney General Bonta is here.

people are really really hurting out in our rural communities and farming is hard enough uh you know most of these farms were just a drought or a flood away from going under anyway and for these completely owned goals whether it's the canadian tariff wars whether it's all the equipment being too expensive the cost of fertilizer being through the roof no matter how you look at it this is an anti-farmer administration in congress and so they're ready for a change

note i want people to feel okay with being a beginner when i first started listening to npr for example in college i didn't have a lot of context for the stories i was hearing so i was like oh i don't know i'm kind of out of my depth but then just the more i read about it and listened to stories the more i understood okay here's the scene of national politics or these particular issues and so it's like anything else you're going to be a beginner you're going to be a little uncomfortable but that's okay you can choose a podcast i'm going to give just a couple examples i like pantsuit politics it's two women who talk about politics You can follow Mormon Women for Ethical Government, MWEG, some people follow them.
