So what is it that brought you here? Well,

there's a long story.

I grew up in a very socially minded household, for one thing.

So there was an unspoken expectation that if you can do something about an issue, a problem, and can bring it forward and help alleviate someone's suffering, you do it if you can.

That's one thing.

And then I went overseas for many years and was working with underserved populations all over the world.

So my heart and soul was in the kinds of work that the world needs.
