You might hear of a very popular peptide called Matrixyl.

I will talk about that a little bit more later.

That is a key signal peptide.

It's like, well, this lotion has... collagen peptides, which are supposed to improve elasticity in my skin and help rebuild and maybe even repair some other soft tissue around the body.

If that's in my skin cream or I have this sort of copper CHKCU peptide, and then maybe what is another one like that palmitoyl penteptide, it's called a Matrixyl, like if it may be in an ingredient list, if that's all in my lotion, that's going to help do everything with my skin.

Well, maybe, but we all know, I mean, peptides are very unstable, right? So you have peptides in a lotion form, getting in contact with the environment and the world.

It's not going to be doing what you think it is for the most part.

I think that a lot of the data you're going to see though, that might appear really, really convincing is oftentimes going to be more in vitro or hypothetical as opposed to these really interesting clinical studies that really prove it for a lot of the newer peptide platforms.

I think you have your very consistent ones like Matrixyl and all of that, and those are great.

But then I think for a lot of the newer ones, it's definitely a little bit more guesswork, hypothetical extrapolation.

And I think with peptides, a lot of them would be more interesting to me if you encapsulate them or have a specific delivery system.

We have Syneca, Matrixyl, Syn6, Matrixyl 3000, Argerilox, and a bunch of hydrators like hyaluronic acid, amino acids, and bioderivatives.

We really think of this product as...

the classic greatest hit serum of some of the top innovations in this industry.

You were getting the peptide at a really high concentration in a stable format.

And that's it.

But Matrixyl has definitely been around for a long time.

And when The Ordinary launched it, it was still being sold as this expensive innovation, or it was even being included as part of complexes that didn't really disclose the concentration of Matrixyl, but highlighted it as one of the main ingredients.

Like, you, you wanna know what kind of peptides are being used, what is it that I'm putting on my skin, and, um, if it's indeed has good delivery system also, you know, what is it that I allow to penetrate my skin.

You could, uh, refer to some of our past episodes where we did deeper dives on the exact peptides, but I will just say that there's, for example, a peptide called Matrixyl 3000 that is trademarked, and it has scientific data behind it.

So I would feel safer using this, something this, versus something experimental or like a cocktail and blend of not known amino acid chains.

And yeah, there is like, again, a certain, uh, peptides like argireline or others that, like, are just more scientifically backed.

Uh, the Matrixyl family, Matrixyl, Matrixyl 3000, have some evidence, again, not in humans per se, but in models.

And I would give the number one slot actually to neuropeptides, so argireline-
