Palette

How do they do it? How do you use plants that can survive in Florida and still make somebody feel like they've gone to a completely different country? Today, we're going to talk about the five P's, which is my own framework I've created for How Disney Gardens.

The first four P's are palette, profile, pattern, and placement.

Palette, like a painter's, is the set of colors they're working from.

Profile is the shape of the plant.

Pattern is how the plants are arranged.

So the storytelling is not just visually telling you about smell, but you're actually smelling the theme.

You've got scent as cultural history.

Palette can also represent an entire landscape.
