Pain of Mind

Three of their members, Jason Roeder, Dave Edmondson, and of course, Scott Kelly, went on from Violent Coercion to form Neurosis.

And another member, Jeff Jarkins, went on to do the artwork for Pain of Mind.

That, I think, is really all we need to say about Violent Coercion at this point.

And that leads us nicely into the formation of Neurosis.

So none of them terribly old, obviously, at that stage.

But Chad was the quote-unquote elder statesman of the band.

And as the notes provided by Neurot Recordings say about the re-release of Pain of Mind, this was a band steeped in the likes of Ameebix and Rudimentary Peni.

And they set out to write their own chapter of punk history, or at least their own chapter of music history.
