Here are three of the most interesting things the Bears said Thursday.

On Ozzie Trapilo's imminent return, Bears head coach Ben Johnson didn't have a timeline for left tackle Ozzie Trapilo's full return earlier this week.

But offensive line coach Dan Raushar said Thursday that Trapilo's getting much closer to fully getting back on the field.

Trapilo has only done individual work since he unexpectedly returned in mid-August from a patellar tendon injury he suffered in January.

The injury was originally supposed to force Trapilo to return late in the season, if not force him to miss it entirely.

But Rouchard said the Bears are going to move Trapilo into team drills shortly.

We'd rather be a day too late than a day too early with him on the field, Rouchard said.

And our medical people do a heck of a job.

I'm very curious what the injury report looks like on Wednesday when it comes out for the first time.

What is it going to look like? Who's questionable? Who's doubtful? Who's on there? Who's not on there? Is Ozzy on there? I don't know what's going on with him.

It's just going to be a very interesting day, I think, to give us a good feel of what's going to happen that first week versus the Panthers.

So Ozzy's going today.

Um, so since Kansas City did the one year where they won all these close games at the end of the year, and they went to the Super Bowl, the next year all them games did not happen, and what happened? They didn't even make the playoffs.

So let's kind of hope that that, that doesn't happen to the Bears, but if you want to follow a formula, and look at the games that they won because there was, like, that Cincinnati game was unreal.

I would imagine him being back at some point here when he gets through this little last phase of his rehab.

And then from there, like we talked about, these guys will get weeks three and four to start practicing before they're actually active to go knocking that rust off and becoming a football player, starting to get that short area quickness and really being able to react and have the instincts come back.

Tuesday was also the first time Poles spoke with reporters since left tackle Ozzy Trapilos faster than expected returned to the field from a patellar tendon injury.

Poles said Trapilo has tested his anchor over the past couple of weeks and looked fabulous.

But there's still a lot of work to be done before Trapilo is in the conversation to return to the field.
