Owen Jones

So I'm definitely, you know, I have, you know, enjoy sort of various things that people would think are sort of middle class.

But I also... sort of holds at the same time the fact that i grew up in a council house and grew up where with not much money and you know so i hold all these things at the same time and i think we in the uk and sometimes for political reasons we view sort of class as very stratified and you're either one thing or other and there's no sort of in between i always had a um uh a real problem with Owen Jones's Chavs book because he really, really, you know, despite the fact, you know, his parents were academics, he grew up presumably in, you know, at least a culturally middle-class rich sort of way.

I felt like he, I took umbrage at it because I thought there was no space for someone to be working class and middle class in different ways.

And it felt like he was trying to box people off and there was no social mobility story in that.

Uh, I mean, if I really had to choose which is the worst cretin of that little so-called community, I mean, it would have to be Owen Jones, wouldn't it? Uh, it's too bad that there isn't an F in LGBTQ for freak, uh, which he would, he would of course exclusively occupy.

Uh, I mean, he's just another one of these people whose rationale is so unfathomable to me.

I mean, he seems to be hell-bent on positioning himself as the architect of importing the equivalent of Chop Chop Square into London, of which he, of course, would be the, the first victim, for obvious reasons.

Uh, but no, truthfully, I mean, no amount of money could get me.

I mean, what would that date even look like? I can see it now, picture it now.

For two hours, sitting across a dinner table from Owen Jones, the reprehensible Owen Jones, as he harangues me on why the tablecloths are racist for being white.

Um, no, I wouldn't do that.

I mean, I wouldn't have advised...

I mean, I saw him just looking at him on Owen Jones's podcast and...

He's saying, well, you know, it will give us a chance to articulate our ideas even if I didn't win.

I hope it doesn't.

I mean, Labour actually does this and they keep hostile journalists out.

Last year, I remember seeing a very forlorn-looking Owen Jones with a megaphone outside the conference perimeter, literally just banging onto anyone who would listen about how he'd been kept out of the conference.

Going full Steve Brown.

Right.

There are a lot of these intellectuals and public figures you know um this guy is is especially nutty but yeah the you know

usually it's you know like i heard owen jones uh complaining about the uh you know hamas was flying kites over gaza Israel was complaining.

He says, well, see, Israel's complaining about people just flying kites as if, you know, I didn't know that kite flying was such a big hobby in Gaza.

Obviously, there's some kind of heat.

That's stupid.

But this guy is a different layer of stupid, obviously.

This guy, you won't hear an Owen Jones being quite as bigoted as this guy, but still overtly.

Because, you know, they're trained a little.

And I know there's all this thing about Boris and the tax and the rich.

I've just listened to Jeremy Vine, uh, drop Lisa off in Stratford on the way home, and they had Owen Jones on.

He was basic- I mean, I love Jeremy Vine, but this g- Owen Jones is beyond a joke.

He was on two days ago.

He was on again today describing what he thought about Boris Johnson.

And he had on Josh Hammer, who has his own podcast as an attorney, who was brought up in a reformed synagogue and is a huge supporter of Israel.

And there was a guy named Owen Jones who claimed on this podcast that Israel is committing genocide.

Well, Josh Hammer educates him.
