Ottawa 67's

He had a very successful junior season, played with, uh, Team Canada at the World Juniors back in, what, 2019.

Uh, played very well for the Ottawa 67s, Windsor Spitfire, and he was acquired by the Boston Bruins in the Jack Stoudenga trade.

He wanted a trade from Vancouver because his development stalled, and he had fallen behind when it comes to the depth chart.

So he was acquired in, uh, you know, like what, three, four years ago now.

We'll chat through that.

Unmistakably Canadian.

21-year-old sophomore defenseman, okay? He recently transferred to Arizona State for the upcoming '26, '27 season.

Before transferring, he played a season at, um, Clarkson University, and four seasons in the OHL with the Ottawa 67s.

He was selected by the Blues in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft.

Arizona State ended up releasing a statement confirming a student athlete was hospitalized, and noted that they are reviewing circumstances surrounding the workout.

August 20th marked the first official day of the fall semester, which is the earliest NCAA permits, um, hockey teams to begin formal team activities.

Doug Armstrong, the president of hockey operations obviously, um, for the Blues, issued a statement expressing that the entire organization is wishing Mayich, um, close to their hearts and prayer, praying for him.

And the OHL also released a statement, as well as the Ottawa 67s, um, so really scary stuff.

Um, the fact that he was placed in a coma, okay? Um, [exhales] man, like, you know, I, I actually went to Arizona State, well, not for school-wise.

The roster was put out yesterday, so I've got, my, uh, counting fingers are correct, I believe 46 players are gonna be at, uh ...

Now, not, not everybody's actually gonna be there, but 46 players are listed on the training camp roster for the 67's when they hit the ice.

I noted because they, they, they, they listed them alphabetically by their first name.

So there are, in total, four Braydens, two Jaydens, and one Aiden.

Let's get a little creative here.

Not every, not every first name's gotta end in D-E-N.

Not according to the 67 [laughs] training camp roster.

Yeah, and another player who kind of was hurt by it, different scenario, but Mikey DiPietro.

Got an emergency recall from the Ottawa 67s up to the Vancouver Canucks to play games, to back up essentially.

Was forced into a game.

Was a starting goaltender.

The Red Blacks announced on Monday that the president of the club, Adrian Sierra, has stepped down in his role as president.

He will remain on with OSEG as the president of the OHL's Ottawa 67's hockey club.

But this is maybe not so surprising given the 0-9 start to the season, 15-game losing streak combined with last season.

Something had to change and...

He remains with, uh, OSEG, Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group, of, as president of the Ottawa 67s The OSEG started an immediate search for a dedicated football leader.

I don't know what your read wa- was on this, Mitch.

I mean, there's just everybody, they're throwing everybody overboard there, right? Coaches, players, now the president, which is being reshuffled, but whatever.

Uh, we don't charge you here.

So just to walk this all [laughs] back, Ottawa Redblacks don't have a team president.
