Oslo II Accord

My friend Lieutenant Colonel Reserves Maurice Hirsch, former director of the IDF military prosecution in Judea and Samaria, recently published an extensive study documenting the transformation of the Palestinian Authority security apparatus.

Under the Oslo II Accords, the Palestinian police force in Judea and Samaria was supposed to number no more than 12,000 personnel.

With Hirsch calculating approximately 8,000 authorized weapons, only 8,000, Hirsch estimates that the Palestinian Authority's security apparatuses today number approximately 70,000 personnel overall, including more than 50,000 armed personnel in Judea and Samaria, right around where I live.

Then consider the geography.

Now the contradiction.

Israeli commentators argue the Oslo II Accord expressly prohibits establishing a consulate for the Palestinian Authority.

Article 9, Section 5, signed the 28th of September, 1995.

If that reading is correct, these consulates aren't a soft echo of a UN resolution.
