Orthros

Nobody prayed the office, basically, except the regular office, except the professional religious, you know, basically clergy and monks.

In the Eastern Church, they kept it as a regular service on certain occasions, like, you know, especially, you know, Orthros, you know, their version of the earliest morning prayer.

But in the West, we alone were successful at restoring this as a regular prayer for everybody.

It's one of the triumphs of the Anglican Reformation is we actually restored this treasure that had been sort of lost over the ages in the West.

This is it.

And it just kept going and going and going to Vespers, to Liturgies, to Orthros.

And you liked that.

Yeah, I liked it.
