There was a chance that the Ornn scaling could have ended up mattering in favor of Shopify in this one, but being able to just, like, Trundle ult and kill a target with all the damage that they had was just really, really easy to execute comp for...

It's just an easy button for FlyQuest.

Good draft win from them, keeping things easy for a team that's been struggling.

Need to bounce back after this last week, but just how are you feeling? Let's talk about this week's games first because you guys would want to play better.

Yeah, I mean... pretty disappointing because I think we had a decent last week against TL and C9 where we could have won both series and pretty honestly which was surprising I think to most people that the TL and C9 series were close and we had pretty good confidence because our scrims were generally pretty good this week compared to most other weeks I mean for me personally I think my game one performance was really bad On Ornn, I think I didn't play lane well, didn't play team fights very well and also died in side lane to Trundle and gave him like 2k gold to Rumble and Trundle, which I was pretty disappointed after game one.

And then game two, I mean, they failed their bot dive completely, like, it was the worst bot dive I've seen, like, mechanically executed.

Like, Renata, like, died before Kalista ult and W'd himself instead of W'ing one of his teammates after breaking aggro.

Yeah, I mean...

I don't think my pick was the greatest either in either game, to be honest.

Ornn versus Trundle is pretty difficult.

When you think about great champs to climb solo queue with, Ornn top is definitely not who first comes to mind.

But maybe this video will change your mind.

I sat down with Macro, a 2000 LP Ornn OTP and streamer to break down exactly how he wins games on this old school tank top laner.

We cover all the different Ornn builds, how he wins lane, and importantly, how he actually has an impact on a tank in solo queue.

Let's get into the details.

Macro, I want to first start off with talking about runes selection here and as well as summoner spells.

And I needed something that would work more consistently because I found Storm Raiders would be not very consistent in the procs.

And you also have Spellbook to run into mages.

Jumping into it.

The big surprise of the tournament, the big winner of this event was Ornn.

I did not see this coming.

I don't think anyone did.

He did.

He did get the best of.

But yeah, this Ornn list, if you don't know what Ornn does, it is a green-blue legend.

And it is Ornn, Fire Below the Mountain.

So we should talk a little bit about what happened there.

Because I think one of the biggest surprises that's ever happened at an RQ was in fact the Ornn victory.

Manland taking it down on aggro Ornn.

um this was a deck that like it was on the radar for a lot of players as being like decent but it decent was like generally what was thrown at it like probably beats here i know some people were like d tier legend this thing sucks or completely surprised by it uh i the knowers the knowers knew that this deck has been kind of okay uh especially when we were talking about how lilia actually was randomly well positioned in some of these earlier tournaments at dealing with canon uh agro orn is a similar deck um but actually it's a bit more resilient and able to push higher might totals on average than you see out of the Lilia versions, even though it's less efficient at just generating as many sprites.

And so it turns out maybe the Ornn was just actually the better green-blue because it did win the event.

So that's pretty good.

But also, Manland is just a very strong player.

So kind of hard to say whether Ornn itself is just so insane or Manland had a good meta read on a deck that he knew... very well and had mastery over and was able to run away with it.

He's getting to, you know, choose based on that.

Um, and he's also, like, even when you just look at the stuff he is playing, like, it's not like he's just getting put on Ornn duty every game.

Like, he's actually playing stuff that is supposed to be good in these match-ups, right? Like-

Yeah

I mean, yeah, like the combos are good with that.

But again, you're like, everything is on one unit, and it's the same feeling I had when people were playing, like, Spellsong or Ornn against me.

You know, but you know what they're doing now?

Yeah, yeah.

I don't know.

Apart from, apart from Ornn.
