The Orion Syndicate is Trek's interstellar crime cartel, best known from Deep Space Nine, of course, but then you also get Tendi in Lower Decks as an Orion.

which is a really fun series.

So my little bit of Rasmussen's, all I did was be like, I want to deep dive on these Orion gals because first of all, incredible performances.

They look really cool.

Yes, they're like hyper-sexualized.

We'll get into all the problems with the way Orions have been done throughout the franchise.

It is not unique to this episode by any means.

But what I really wanted to do was like celebrate these women.

I think she's still acting.

So it's already half a point there just for having grapplers exist on that ship.

But yeah, definitely an interesting short, but gets me into it because I want to know what's going on with the Orions.

The last time we saw them, things were not great and they bring that up right away.

So I like this one.

So this one was interesting how I wanted to think about this, but I ended up coming down to, hey, I've picked the Vulcan aesthetic.

I'm going to talk about the Orion aesthetic, right? Because there was a lot of beautiful stuff there.

that had to do with the Orions, right? Now, let's take out the beautiful women's bodies, right? And those, well, they're beautiful, they're round, they're green, they dance well, they were there for that exact purpose, right? I get it.

They just do whatever they want kind of thing, right? But there's a couple of interesting little bits, right? So first of all, correct me if I'm wrong, but the time portal on Kromoth B in Strange New Worlds, was that not a Nausicaan time portal?

I seem to remember Uhura having to translate Nausicaan on it.

But no, they went all out.

We got an Orion ship that returned in Lower Decks because When a design works, it works.
