Origins Awards

Now, at one point, apparently during a writer's strike, DiTillio did some writing for role-playing games, and he wrote various things for Flying Buffalo and Chaosium contributed to a lot of different things, but probably the most famous is Masks of Nyarlathotep, the Call of Cthulhu campaign, widely regarded as one of the best RPG campaigns.

I mean, indeed, it picked up an Origins Award.

You know, he just kinda decided to do some game writing, wrote Masks of Nyarlathotep, won an Origins Award, did a few other bits and bobs, and then when the strike ended, went back to Hollywood.

Now, I assume that Larry DiTillio worked in the Los Angeles area for most of his life because that's where, you know, these things are made, I suppose.

But, uh, I don't know, he had...

I mean, you still call things role-playing games or war games or whatever, but it was all adventure gaming.

I mean, the guys that do the Origins Awards are the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design.

Like, that was all one thing.

And it was adventure gaming because it wasn't Scrabble and Monopoly and, you know, Sorry and whatever else you were picking up on.
