Welcome to the Hacked Off podcast, episode 17, Churchianity and Organized Religion and How They Set Women Up for Failure.

This is the final episode of our three-part series talking about how bad women have it because all of the subconscious developed schlubs of the world have just collectively decided that men have it worse than women, which is ridiculous.

But anyway, I'm your host, C.S. Joseph, joined by Mr. Yuri Skarzynski, the kahuna.

If you're a Christian, you've ever tried to share the gospel with somebody, you've probably had that frustrating event where they hit you with an evangelism roadblock.

And what I mean by that is those sort of pithy, all too predictable statements in which they say, I'm not religious, I'm spiritual, or stop being so judgy, or stop shoving religion down people's throats, or I'm not into organized religion, whatever.

Those are easy roadblocks for the unbeliever, but in this video I want to show you how you can work around those roadblocks.

In fact, sometimes those roadblocks are actually just a doorway into their heart to try to understand a little bit about why they reject the gospel.

But I do think it's better than nothing, and it does keep the conversation going, and it affords you the opportunity to explain a little bit more by what you mean about real, true Christianity.

Okay, fourth.

I'm not into organized religion.

Now, this one was a particularly painful roadblock for me because I'll never forget the time that I was 12 years old and I decided to share the gospel with my cousin, my first cousin.

but I do believe that, that, that organ- [laughs] that organized religion is absolutely a control mechanism.

Every single organized religion you can name, it's a control mechanism.

It's for keeping people in their little boxes of belief-

Mm-hmm

It's heavy stuff.

It is essentially a fantasy critique of Milton's Paradise Lost in Organized Religion.

If a television show hits all the visual plot points, the incredible CGI armored bears fighting, the portal hopping between ultimate universes, but fails to actually delve into those deeper controversial themes, perhaps out of a desire by the network to be more universally palatable, it becomes a beautiful hollow shell of the source material.

It sands off all the edges.

You see, that's the thing, man.

Y- y- it's, this, all this organized religion, the c- common denominator is fear.

Mm-hmm.

See, they just, they want you to be fearful of something or someone or some other group or that guy or the f- well, now you should be fearful of the priest around your kids, and there's a real fear for you.
