And now for this week's construction reports.

The Oregon Youth Authority is seeking bids for renovation and expansion of the infirmary at the McLaren Youth Correctional Facility.

The project involves reconfiguring the existing medical laboratory, security station, medication supply area, and receiving and storage space, as well as adding four patient rooms, a shared day room, a new nurse station, two supervisor offices, and a meeting room.

Clark Kios Architects is the designer of the estimated $3 million project.

New filings are coming out surrounding years of alleged sexual abuse at the Oregon Youth Authority.

Thirteen former OYA staff members have submitted sworn statements describing direct knowledge about complaints against the late Dr. Edward Gary Edwards, known by many as Dr. Coldfingers, were ignored.

There were over 125 people who say that they were sexually assaulted by Dr. Edwards.

The effort has since expanded citywide.

Fariborz Parrakesh, I'm sorry, I'm mispronouncing his name, no doubt, was named last month to head up OHA, which is by far the state's largest agency in financial terms.

And He is a named defendant in a number of pending lawsuits against the Oregon Youth Authority, which is the state's juvenile corrections agency.

Basically, these lawsuits are representing about 125 former inmates to testify that for decades.

The doctor at McLaren Youth Correctional Institution in Woodburn was sexually abusing boys, that everybody knew about it, that it was the subject of violence.

They're broke, so they've run out of money, so that means the next group they'll have to go to is just the general fund of the state if there are damages that are owed by a state agency? Yes.

Part of what I report in this story is that what's really unusual here is that there are many sexual abuse cases you and I have covered over the years.

It's a little bit uncommon, in fact, a leading lawyer told me very uncommon to have 13 former employees of the Oregon Youth Authority step forward and say, yes, we heard about this, we tried to do something about this, but our efforts failed, top management knew about it.

Many times, sexual abuse cases are the victim's word against the alleged perpetrator's word, and it's hard for a judge or jury to figure out who's telling the truth.
