Orange spotted filefish

Harlequin filefish are colorful marine fish that are widespread throughout the Indo-West Pacific.

Their body is blue-green with orange spots.

Their striped snout is long.

These fish are found on shallow coral reefs and rarely venture deeper than 100 feet.

They exclusively eat coral polyps from coral in the genus Acropora.

Harlequin filefish are typically most abundant in areas with structurally complex, branching Acropora coral.

Larger adults tend to be spotted in monogamous pairs.

Smaller fish tend to be alone or in groups of 1-5 individuals.
