Oral Bible translation

And during that timeframe, about 10, 15 years ago, we created a process.

Well, we kind of, said, can we work with the Bible Translation Ministries to help their process, help their translations? And we started looking at people groups or language groups that have no written word at all and how we could help them to be able to translate faster and more accurate.

And what we found is, you know, we have the largest collection of Bibles in the world, figure close to 3000 audio and text.

in our library.

So we created, we built a system out called Oral Bible Translation.

We built a software called Render, which can pull in about three or four languages that are spoken.

When you travel internationally, many of these people, they're brilliant.

So I'm thrilled today to welcome some dear friends, a husband and wife team, Swapna and Alex Mathew, who both currently serve with Faith Comes By Hearing.

Alex is the vice president of Oral Bible Translation, and Swapna is the global translation quality manager, and they're connecting from their, their office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with Faith Comes By Hearing.

So Swapna and Alex, thank you so much for joining today, and I'm delighted to have you both as a couple.

This is new for me to interview two together, but to have you both on the podcast today.

Absolutely.

Absolutely

And, um, and I wanna come back to oral Bible translation and scripture in a little bit, but [clears throat] there was also another season of change that arrived.

Alex, you reached a point where some other things were developing in the country where you got asked to take on a, a different position outside the c- community.
