En este caso nos acompaña Pablo Joaquín Álvarez, que es en EDP el OT Solutions and Security Manager de generación hidráulica y térmica para Iberia.

Pues gracias a ti, José, por, por invitarme un poco a compartir mi experiencia también en este, en este mundo de la ciberseguridad de [ríe] OT, ¿no? Tan interesante.

Ayer me decían que es un mundo complejo y precioso.

Me ha gustado mucho escuchar definirlo como precioso y estoy de acuerdo.

No solo consiste en proteger sistemas, también en conseguir que personas internas y externas colaboren para que una operación crítica siga funcionando de forma segura.

He's just recently put out this book, BMS Fundamentals, a practical guide for engineers entering the field.

And I thought, well, I guess we thought, Ping, that it would be a great opportunity to discuss sort of the ground floor, the fundamentals of BACnet, OT networking, understanding where to start.

I know that with a lot of our episodes in our BAC catalog, we do cater, obviously, to people that are working in the industry, people that already have some expertise or experience.

And one of the really nice spots I thought throughout this first season was talking to the gentlemen at Stacks and Jewels and getting their perspective on the sort of on the ground teaching side of getting people ready to transition into this sort of industry.

Right.

But of course, there are IT related things that BMS engineers need to be aware of.

and that certainly comes into effect when we're talking about talking to other equipment across BACnet or something or even when you're setting up a BMS network right so engineers need to be aware of things like IP addressing subnet masks you know gateways routers you know those sort of fundamental IT slash OT things are definitely an advantage and But systems like Niagara are probably a bit closer to IT terminology than other BMS products.

So yeah, so I think it does depend on what systems you're going to be working on.
