Operation Nanook

Graham, it's like all that is old is new again.

I mean, you and I can both remember when Stephen Harper, the prime minister of the day, went up to the north as part of Operation Nanook, which was the Navy's operation.

I think Arctic Ghost and Nanook Connect.

Tell us about how, again, that sentiment, what is old is new again.

Mm-hmm

... are they seeing, uh, you know, the effects of countries going through the Northwest Passage, but also incredibly important when we deploy forces from the south of Canada to operate in the north through what we call Operation NANOOK.

For that, we have Arctic Response Company groups that come from our reserve forces that we're looking to augment their capacity to operate in the north and in the Arctic.

And as part of our army modernization, this week we're standing up our third Canadian Light Infantry Regiment, where they're gonna be responsible to be our high-readiness task force to deploy wherever they're needed.
