Operation Eastern Sentry

Cooperation was set to focus mainly on ammunition production and Poland's program for countering drones.

Poland also thanked Slovakia for providing radars to help protect Polish airspace as part of NATO's Eastern Sentry operation.

Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár signed an agreement with the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague that could allow international arbitration and mediation proceedings to be held in Slovakia.

Blanár said the agreement strengthened Slovakia's support for international law and peaceful dispute resolution.

A drone wall is something that's been much in conversation, which the Baltic States and northeastern Europe and Poland have thought about.

There's also a so-called drone sentinel project that's ongoing, uh, and Project Operation Eastern Sentry, which is to guard the eastern flank against, uh, these hybrid incursions.

So all of that is part of resilience and defending and hardening.

Mm.

These are really high technology sensors and systems that are stitched together to create what amounts to not an impenetrable wall, but a great early warning system with response mechanisms connected to them.

The Eastern Front allies are really eager in working with a lot of athleticism and speed to get this drone wall completed, but it will be some time, and the earliest date, um, really is 2027 for this drone wall being in decent shape, and for it to be entirely completed might even take much longer.

So it'll take some time, but this is an ambition, and it's tied with and to Eastern Sentry, the NATO operation, to try to buy time and knock down some of these drone incursions in the meanwhile.
