In December 2024, the UK as National Crime Agency went public with Operation Destabilize.

They dismantled two massive Russian linked laundering networks.

Smart, which we mentioned earlier.

The operation resulted in 84 arrests across multiple countries and the seizure of over 20 million euros.

It was huge.

But the critical takeaway from Operation Destabilize It isn't the dollar amount.

It's not.

Operation Atlantic, a week-long sprint at NCA headquarters with the US Secret Service, Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, and Tether, woo-hoo, identified twenty thousand approval phishing victims and froze twelve million dollars in March.

Operation Destabilize, the case against Russian-speaking networks converting street cash into crypto, has reached a hundred and twenty-nine arrests and more than twenty-five million pound sterling seized in the UK, one arrest more than the update given in November.

The agency now says that it will expand its Operation Destabilize approach to other, quote, "high harm money laundering networks which pose the greatest illicit finance risk to the UK." I gotta come back to that.

There's something about that that, that's not sitting right with me.

The report also lists among its academic work a report on privacy-enhancing technologies in crypto industry published by the Royal United Services Institute.

It's just the only shadow they have to hide behind at this point, because what they really want is full control of everything, which leads me back to this thing that I highlighted here.
