Ontario Federation of Labour

All things that are really important.

Here's one here that's in the Ontario Federation of Labour and the Canadian Labour Congress, of course, putting this one together.

calling all union members and allies to an MP picket, protect the right to strike, remove Section 107, tell Mark Carney we won't allow our rights to be taken.

Mark Carney needs to remember that he's in the position he's in because the public voted him in.

She comes from a background in labour and has spent the past 20 years professionally advocating for the rights of working people and equity-seeking communities.

She has served as Communications Director for the Canadian Auto Workers Union, Executive Director of the Ontario Federation of Labour, head of the United Steelworkers National Communications and Political Action Department and executive director of the Toronto and York Region Labour Council.

Most recently, Shannon led a national 2SLGBTQIA plus working group, mobilizing union members to fight back against rising hate and discrimination in their workplaces.

She has served on numerous boards and executive committees.

And of course, it didn't fundamentally change the policies of the government.

And regrettably, the Ontario Federation of Labour pulled back at that point and thought, well, we should put our efforts into getting the NDP elected, when in fact, there was a momentum building towards something bigger.

But I think there are very few events in Canadian history that actually brought that kind of unity and energy and creativity, too.

I mean, it was amazing to see what people did and the handmade signs they had and whatnot.
