Oni Press

I'm going to shout out Fort Psycho, number three.

This is an Oni Press book, Matt Kint and Brian Hurt.

It's a set of disgraced super spies that they, after completing this huge mission, world altering, they get sort of saved and brought to this island where they just effectively retire.

But one spy has a mission to finish off one of the other spies in like this revenge plot and terrorist sort of affiliation.

If you dig the political intrigue, the like boots on the ground, Jason Bourne, spy espionage, but like sort of really with one foot planted firmly in reality.

Oni Press, O-N-I, Oni Press had a book called Queen and Country.

And it's the story of special agent or not special agent, but MI5, I think.

It's going to be five

So, shouts to that.

Let's talk The Forever Home, number two from Oni Press, written by Christian Ward, art by Sammy Cavella.

This series, which kicked off last issue, obviously, with number one, where a family has been trapped in a post-apocalyptic world, but their home is safe.

The twist is that they have some sort of a time bubble around them where time is traveling differently for them.

Well, that's good if you can get that.

I wonder, Rodrigo, because you and I are both reviewing smaller publishers, Mad Cave Studios, Oni Press, that have put in some money to license these properties, Last Starfighter and the Nacelle universe, the entire Nacelle universe.

So that's Archer Mice from Mars.

The Herculoids.

Well, that's good if you can get that.

I wonder, Rodrigo, because you and I are both reviewing smaller publishers, Mad Cave Studios, Oni Press, that have put in some money to license these properties, Last Starfighter and the Nacelle universe, the entire Nacelle universe.

So that's Parker Mice from Mars.

The Herculoids.

to be that like manga role-playing game books and trade paperbacks and bookstores kind of occupied like one shelf altogether.

And now manga stuff is like, it's its own section.

So again, uh, you know, I run a business, but I'm not like a smart businessman, like somebody who would be running an Oni or a boom studios or something like that.

But I would think that if I wanted my mighty morph and power Rangers to find a younger audience, uh, outside of that trade paperback section, little tiny section at the bookstore, I'd be just releasing compact editions of all of that stuff and just sliding it right onto the manga section.

Uh, Cruel Kingdom 2 started.

Uh, this is from Oni.

This is part of their EC Comics revival.

Obviously, they have more than a couple of these titles out at this point.

Ooh, maybe.

Michael Ataya, uh, Michelle Masden, Madsen, Nick Filardi, Francesco Sigala, Lee Lowridge, Color Flatter, Sabrina Del Grosso, and letter, letterers Richard Starkings and Tyler Smith.

Uh, Oni, um, just because I made a big rant about this before, uh-

[laughs]

Recently, and I picked up one of the first issue, Archie's been rebooted again.

It's being published by Oni Press.

And it's going for something different.

And, like, it's okay.

I can go and read Archie Meets the Punisher, and I'll be pleased as punch, and then I won't have to think about Archie again for a decade, right? Like...

I am curious of kids like this new Archie stuff, but I also like, again, do kids read comics? They read graphic novels, I suppose.

Oni Press is a graphic novel house.

I don't know.
