One Piece

colourful and whimsical, but it should be.

I recently watched the Netflix One Piece adaptation.

And if you want a fantastical show that is colourful and bouncy and saturated and not afraid to be ridiculous, it's that.

And I sort of wish that House of the Dragon was able to embrace its ridiculousness and colour in the same way.

And that's one of the reasons why it's been getting quite a lot of critical reappraisal in recent years because we are now living in an era where anime live-action remakes are not weird.

And so people are comparing that to things like the Netflix Death Note, the Netflix One Piece, the live-action Ace Attorney movies.

Things like this now exist.

And this was very much trying to do that – In a time where none of that was even a concept.
