One Art

Wow, so good.

That's fantastic.

I mean, one of the things that drew me to Bishop in the first place was, I mean, it was particular poems, things like At the Fish Houses or The Armadillo.

One art, I think, is the gateway drug for a lot of people.

Yes.

And everyone learns what a villanelle is, which is also quite fun.

It is like what we imagine knowledge to be, dark, salt, clear, moving, utterly free, drawn from the cold, hard mouth of the world, derived from the rocky breasts, forever, flowing and drawn.

And since our knowledge is historical, flowing and flown.

And then I'm going to read The Gateway Drive to Bishop, as I now know, which is one art because it's so great.

I'm always thinking about losing things and memory, so it feels like the right one to read.
