So there's so much that a Popeye Doyle would be a fucking... touchstone of conversations uh between the right and the left over the characterization of pop idol using the n-word being like kind of being racist in that movie at times yeah so yeah and look through the 80s like all these things about how to help people how to do better for people you know yeah it's just fascinating you're right you're so right 28.
John RochaHOST
124:27
Isaac Rocky says, the Russo brothers just said that Once Upon a Time in the West was significant influence for Doomsday.
John RochaHOST
124:32
I wonder what ways you think it could influence Doomsday.
John RochaHOST
124:34
It's an intriguing thought.

oscar oh he was good in oscar even though that film was a tough watch loaded weapon look he is great as mr jigsaw load i mean people don't talk about loaded weapon enough that is a fun film uh that could be a fun one take for the cinephiles talking about loaded weapon he is so good as mr jigsaw i thought his cardinal richard you was delicious in three musketeers that's the reason to see the movie look sheen and oliver platt and sutherland and o'donnell are great don't get me wrong and uh what's her face rebecca de bourne as um i forget the character's name she's good but i mean me man like tim curry is just having a blast as cardinal richard you in the film not the shadow yeah so i i think i've gone far enough to know what my answer is and then my answer is um legend i think him as the quote-unquote demon which is essentially a devil i thought he was amazing first of all he's unrecognizable in that makeup his body looks amazing as the demon as the devil and the way he because legend is not the strongest of the ridley scott films another miss for ridley and to a degree and tom as well but like he is so good in that role that i when i ever think of tim curry i think of him in legend first before i think of anything else so that would be my answer um even though i do love him in as mr jigsaw and as cardinal risha you for sure he's so good in those roles I say, Rocky, circle back to how Once Upon a Time in the West might possibly be such a significance on Doomsday.

Okay, so Once Upon a Time in the West, for those who don't know, is basically a film where Charles Bronson and Jason Robards are fighting off Henry Fonda, who's a villain, and his crew of guys and the things that they're doing to this town and this family.

Morricone score on something like a giallo or any Italian film or any film in general.
Dave ParkerHOST

But she's famously, you know, the person who sings in Once Upon a Time in the West, the soundtrack, that beautiful opening with the railroad, that just amazing soundtrack.
Dave ParkerHOST
8:43
And she sings in this one and it's not exactly languages, but it's made to have this feel.
Dave ParkerHOST
8:48
Feeling of motion and stuff and it's works really well and this interviews quite long 25 minutes with her She talks about her career talks about having her regrets all that stuff like that never seen an interview with her So that was a nice touch video essay by Andy Marshall Roberts pretty good stuff And then we have a video essay by Howard s burger also good stuff these I remember watching these and going through them and they do have a bunch of information But I don't know if like how to explain them directly what exactly their focal point is on this stuff Howard burgers getting better at these he's always good, but you know what and He did a solid job in this.

The Russo Brothers? Tab sent me this.
Heath AndersonHOST

They said that Avengers Doomsday is influenced by Once Upon a Time in the West.
Heath AndersonHOST

Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West.
Heath AndersonHOST

And at this point, they have to be doing a bit.
Heath AndersonHOST
0:48
There's no way.
Sarah VistaGUEST
49:01
I mean, he doesn't know they have a place, but he wouldn't consider them the sort of classic films.
Sarah VistaGUEST
49:07
um western in in that sense so i think the first thing i got into was probably the dollars the leone films um i started watching them in my teens the very first one i saw and i'll never forget and that's one of the most it had a big impact on me um was once upon a time in the west i probably watched that when i was 11 and i think for an 11 year old to sit through a three three plus hour long film like that and still be standing and transfixed by it the entire time.
Sarah VistaGUEST
49:42
that had a massive impact on me.
Sarah VistaGUEST
49:44
And again, it would be partly because of the music, partly because of those great big, beautiful Claudia Cardinale, unforgettable eyes.

So had they have been interested enough to go back and watch it again with the English subtitles in the original format, I'm sure they would have found it a different experience.
Sarah VistaGUEST
73:44
Um, so I guess it would depend, depend on who I was talking to, whether they were a fan of violence.
Sarah VistaGUEST
73:51
Um, cause if they just wanted a beautiful, stunning, unforgettable Western, I'd probably say Once Upon a Time in the West because How could you not enjoy that film? But if they were like my friend Icky, who runs Spaghetti Western Daily, who does not like that movie, he likes Blood and Guts, I'd probably recommend something else to him.
Sarah VistaGUEST
74:12
So if I was going to give a fun one that kind of tells you everything you need to know about that genre, I guess I'd say a few dollars more, which is really enjoyable, well-paced.
Michael SchantzHOST
1:22
I agree with that sentiment completely.
Tom StewartHOST
1:25
And then on a Western note, Sergio Leone completely stole that bit for Once Upon a Time in the West.
Tom StewartHOST
1:36
Henry Fonda says it to... to one of his adversaries and all they add is you don't even trust your own pants that is a good bonus line and then he and then i believe if i remember he shoots off his suspenders and belt in turn So I guess that's a bit more than stealing.
Tom StewartHOST
2:04
He added something to the mix.
Pete QuiñonesHOST

They really want us to look at these movies as kind of a rebirth.
Erik VossHOST

Arguably, before the MCU started, Fox had a very successful franchise.
Erik VossHOST

David Johnson, Black Panther 3, T'Challa Jr., Ryan Gosling as some version of Ghost Rider, a new version of Nova, some of these X-Men along with Sadie Sink could be in it.
Erik VossHOST
4:10
It's just really, really interesting to even describe it this way.
Erik VossHOST
4:15
And also this Associated Press article is where we learn that they're basing Doomsday on Once Upon a Time in the West.
Erik VossHOST

Wild.
JesseHOST

Okay.
AdamHOST

Or else you would have, like, he was supposed to be in, like, DocuSucker and what's that other one that's really good? Once Upon a Time in the West.
AdamHOST
32:58
Sergio Leone wanted to work together more, but Clint Eastwood was like, you're a dick.
AdamHOST

I don't want to do it.
