And the idea is to have the reminder, right? Like that's the idea of GTD is to have the reminder at the appropriate time to do the thing that you pre negotiated to do.

And I do remember that like, uh, uh, what's that group? Um, uh, Asian efficiency, uh, I remember that they had a setup for OmniFocus that was for routines, like brushing your teeth and doing, you know, things like that.

So that's interesting.

So then I go and I change the start date.

It might still be today, but I do have to go in and make those changes, or I can decide that I'm not dealing with that until next month, and then I will move the start date, which is called deferred date now in OmniFocused.

I'll move that out so that it will pop up at the right time.

You mentioned Do and Things and Omni...

What is it? OmniFocus.

So there's a new one that all the kids are using and it's web-driven and you could save it as an app in your

Mac.

Uh, some I just don't capture, you know? The, it, this is the output from the computer, and I just mark it done.

And I may go, if I was using OmniFocus, I'd check it off in OmniFocus.

If I'm using the robot assistant, I have that do it.

Uh, one thing I can do, although I don't admit I don't do it every day, I can just take a picture of the card at the end of the day, 'cause it's got check marks and arrows and annotations.

Out of the four, I would say the one that I probably struggle the most with is the optimization idea of like, okay, let's just optimize as much as we can right out the gate as soon as possible.

The thing that I think I do pretty well is I avoid tool switching because, you know, again, being the guy who was with OmniFocus till the very end before I realized they had an MCP server, which now, you know, it's kind of too late at this point.

But, you know, there's been so many different task managers and to-do list apps and everything, and I was just sticking to something that I knew worked and was solid.

I'm curious from the four patterns for you, Brooks, which one do you think you're pretty good at handling, and which is one that you think you're pretty weak at?

It could be whatever your area of interest is.

We all have these things that are, like, saved bookmarks in our to-do list.

I know for me, I, I was looking at my OmniFocus inbox.

... very quickly, like, when Things, OmniFocus, and some of the other, like-

... big apps arrived, we, we suddenly had great options, and that was really, really awesome.

Reminders, a f- I think a few years ago, Reminders added the ability to make subtasks under a task.

There's, this is a common feature of apps like Things and OmniFocus, you know, all like, you know, the big, the big task management apps.

And the idea is, oh, you can make a proj- you know, make like a top level ta- that's the project.

And then you have the sub, the sub check marks of like, all right, we'll do this, then do this, and then, then the, then the, the project is complete.

He was describing how he used Reminders before he made his own app, and he was a super power user of Reminders, using things like subtasks and tags and all these da- And, like, I, I've never used it that way.

I've never used anything that way.

I've, I've tried using OmniFocus back in the day.
