Like, us passing the, w- which is what we did, that's the one thing we did w- was-

The Consolidated Appropriations Act last year.

Yeah.

On, on, and it's-

It, it, it's, it's tough because you, you don't wanna get a drug to market quickly and then have some major safety concerns, but the process is way too long and way too arduous and way too expensive.

Um, but you know, the shift up to that, you mentioned something and I failed to kinda touch on it when we were talking about that first question and, and that is, uh, the, the Consolidated Appropriations Act and, and some of the forces that are changing, uh, the market.

So, you know, this was a, this was passed, uh, what, five or six years ago.

There was a, an amendment earlier this year.

We can't just sit up here and talk about transparency anymore.

We have to talk about what really the, the drivers, uh, uh, behind that are, and it, and it get, again, it gets back to what's doing the best for our clients and our members.

And that's where, uh, you know, the, the, the hope with the Consolidated Appropriations Act and all of these settlements was more around the fiduciary, uh, component and, because right now I would s- I would argue that most people don't act as fiduciaries, so, you know, act in the best interest of your client.

They're acting in the best interest of themselves.

And you're like, that's later.

So not to geek out on you, but in 2021, in the middle of what was the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which was like a stimulus bill on some level, was an amendment to ERISA, the Employee Retirement Investment Savings Act.

And ERISA governs 401k and pension, but it also governs self-insurance.

And it was amended by the Department of Labor at their request, and it made it into the CAA, the Consolidated Appropriations Act.

And it basically required full disclosure on all compensation for health care.

Now, it came out in December of 21.

One TikTok-related bill became law in the one hundred and seventeenth Congress.

House Bill two thousand six hundred and seventeen, Public Law one hundred and seventeen dash three hundred and twenty-eight, Consolidated Appropriations Act twenty twenty-three, introduced by Gerald E. Connolly on April sixteenth, twenty twenty-one, and became law on December twenty-ninth, twenty twenty-two.

The law, which adopted the provisions of Senate Bill one thousand one hundred and forty-three, prohibits the installation and use of the TikTok app on devices owned by the federal government.

Legislation.

This bill would have required, with certain exceptions, that TikTok be removed from the information technology of federal agencies.

Senate Bill 1143, No TikTok on Government Devices Act, introduced by Senator Josh Hawley on April 15, 2021, and received and held at the desk in the House on December 15, 2022.

This bill was included as Section 102 of Division R of the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2023, Public Law 117-328, and requires TikTok to be removed from the information technology of federal agencies.
