And you're like, well, wait, Omega Supreme took all those guys out and they really shouldn't be there because this is post-Omega Supreme.
D
25:57DerekHOST
So I can see your guys' point.
D
25:59DerekHOST
There was some carelessness in terms of some of the Transformers stuff on that side of it.

And any like normal writer, like a Budiansky is like, man, I already got enough.
D
29:51Delvin WilliamsGUEST
crap to worry about I ain't gonna do this but you know Higgins was like yeah I'll figure it out and I'll make it work and that's where like that's why you would see Optimus Prime and Megatron in issue one and if I'm a Transformers fan I'm excited about that and then the rest of the way you get Shockwave In Blaster slash
D
30:14DerekHOST
Omega Supreme? Yeah, slash Omega Supreme.
D
30:17DerekHOST
I found that interesting because it really did seem like that they they didn't know, you know, and that's what I mean by there was such a major shakeup because from issue 23 to 26 in the ongoing Marvel Transformers book, like that's when.

And I like this one with Omega Supreme because in college, like you said, we don't really know what J.J. McCarthy was because of the style.
T
16:26TimHOST
It was ground and pound.
T
16:27TimHOST
It was play good defense.

Transformers AutoBook Club episode 48 | "Target: 2006" parts 5 & 6"Target: 2006" parts 5 & 6, Cybertron: The Middle Years!
G

In Command Performances, Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Rumble, and Frenzy accompanied Megatron to mount an attack on the Ark, which Megatron assumed would be empty or poorly defended given that the Autobots were, at the time, attacking the then-in-construction Decepticon base.
G
6:09GaryHOST
What they didn't know was that the Autobots had built themselves a colossal new ally, Omega Supreme, who easily fended off the Decepticons, taking all of them out besides Megatron, who, in true Megatron style, retreated, leaving the rest to their fates.
G
6:22GaryHOST
Acknowledging the fallout of Omega Supreme's defense of the arc, but opting not to include Omega Supreme in the story is a strange choice, and I don't know, perhaps he'll feature later.
G
6:33GaryHOST
But as of now, he hasn't appeared, when really, it would have made much more sense for him to do so.
G
6:38GaryHOST
That said, I think the omission is actually there to allow Ultra Magnus to be as important to the Autobots as he is at this moment in time.
G
6:45GaryHOST
Remember, there were sometimes orders from Hasbro to promote certain toys, and with the movie coming up, this comic is certainly making sure that Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, Scourge, and Cyclonus are getting plenty of time to shine.
G
6:56GaryHOST
Personally, I'd have written in an aside to say that the skirmish with the Decepticons damaged Omega Supreme, and because it was the first attempt the Autobots had made at building anything so large, the design just wasn't perfected yet.
G
7:09GaryHOST
So for now, he's out, getting critical structural repairs.
The Other Triple Changer
S
7:43speaker_0HOST
Not only flexing his space superiority by shooting down the UFO-themed Autobot Cosmos, but literally conning an entire alien civilization into worshiping him as a sky god so they'll mine energy crystals for the Decepticons.
S
7:57speaker_0HOST
But when the rest of the Autobots show up aboard Omega Supreme, Astrotrain and company skedaddle, but not before destroying the Mind Crystals out of spite, establishing him as not just opportunistic and deceptive, but genuinely petty when his plans get thwarted.
S
8:15speaker_0HOST
His most memorable episode, though, is the appropriately titled Triple Takeover, where he and fellow Triple Changer Blitzwing momentarily take over the Decepticon leadership after luring Megatron and Starscream into an underground sewer trap and freezing them both.
S
8:31speaker_0HOST
And while you'd think that two triple changers staging a coup together would have a unified plan for world domination, they go their separate ways.

Great for those who want them, but I was good with my dark gray toon-colored Thomas.

Let's just hope he doesn't run into the Autobot rocket base Omega Supreme out there.
