Omaha Platform

... back in the 1890s, right? They formed the People's Party.

If you go back and look at the, um, the ca- the manifesto of the People's Party, it was called the Omaha Platform, 1890.

We're going back to Rockefeller and JP Morgan.

And ordinary people wrote this manifesto as a big revolutionary movement which said, probably the most democratic period in American history, um, which said Wall Street had to be taken over by ordinary people, that we, the country would not survive if the Morgans of the world continued to dominate.

So in 1892, they gathered in Nebraska and formed the People's Party, which we know as the Populist Movement.

The Omaha Platform of 1892 was a staggering document for its time.

It demanded radical economic interventions that terrified the ruling class.
