She got the win over Hannah Maul, who got second place.

Sandy Morris was actually, what, 10 years removed from her Olympic silver medal back in Rio 2016.

So here at the age of 34 to get back on the podium and actually here now win the entire competition.

This was a big, big moment for Sandy Morris.

He's a really good walker.

I can actually remember him sparring I think it was Stephen Donnelly in the lead-up to the 2016 Olympics over at the National Stadium when he was classed back then.

He's very ferocious.

He takes a lot of shots as well.

Kyle Snyder was an Olympic wrestler.

He won gold medals in the summer of 2016 Olympics.

He's the youngest Olympic wrestling champion, by the way, in US history.

And this 20-year-old said after the Olympics, I think, if anything, my secret to my success is that instead of thinking about winning and thinking about gold medals and things like that, I try to value just my effort.

Yeah, exactly.

And then he luckily went pro and did, I think, yeah, that must have been Rio 2016.

And I was the Mac 1500 champ.

So door opened up and you get to step through it sometimes.

And so much storytelling happened around your outstanding athletic career.

I had the opportunity to chat with you fully, really, for the last time, almost 10 years ago when I was at Self Magazine before the 2016 Olympics, which feels like a different era now.

It is.

And you told me this insane story that I literally revisit so often.

Great Britain claimed three golds, two for Joe Clarke, one for Lois Leaver, at the Canoe Slalom World Cup in Paris.

Olympic gold medalist from Rio 2016, Clarke won both the kayak cross and the kayak cross individual gold medals and celebrated with Lois Leaver, who topped the podium in the women's kayak cross individual.

Paris 2024 double bronze medalist Kimberley Woods bagged a another third-place finish for Britain in that.

And Great Britain's Ryan Wesley claimed his first C1 World Cup medal of the season with a bronze.

20 years of top level.

The high of London 2012. and the other spectrum the low of Rio 2016 and then this brand new journey now in professional boxing which was up and down and up and down you know all of that they've been through as well and whilst watching her get punched and she has been in some brutal fights where she's been cut and hurt and in the trenches so for them It's a relief that this night played out as they would have hoped with the fairytale ending, but a relief that Katie Taylor has nothing to prove.

There's nothing to fight now in or out of the ring, and she can enjoy this incredible legacy and this new chapter for herself.

As she said to her brothers and sisters from the ring, you don't have to watch your little sister getting hit in the face anymore.

I'm really gobsmacked by that.

But you know what? This is another thing that transcends sport.

That difficulty she went through that obviously affected her massively at Rio 2016, that family breakup was huge.

And we know what that does to people.

Mm.

You think back to that loss at the 2016 Olympics.

You think about the Chantelle Cameron loss.

You know, there have been difficulties along the way for her, but I think maybe the, the best thing of all about Katie Taylor is that she has remained the very same person right from the start un- until the end.
