Old St. Johns County Jail

Where are you taking us for your second?

We are going to go half a mile north up the same street we were on for my first location to 167 San Marco to the Old Jail.

All

right.

yeah.

It would consist of a two-story northern wing for general population and a maximum security section, a women's section, a lower-level kitchen, and a two-story southern wing that had the office and the living quarters for the sheriff's family.

Up until 1953, it would operate as the St. John's County Jail, at which time they would once again move into a newer, more modern building, and the old jail would sit vacant until it was purchased by Henry Slim McDaniel.

Slim McDaniel.
