Old Prussians

I am descended from the

Prussians.

So there might be some issues there.

Yeah.

And

I had, real quick, I had David Horowitz once tell me, the famous conservative, he's dead now, the conservative, he was a neocon.

But he once said to me, he goes, he wanted to do, he wanted Israel to do to the Palestinians what the Russians and the Poles did to the Prussians.

And I was like, that's horrific.

The Slavs to the east of the Oder, however, remained independent and established a Christian kingdom of their own, Poland.

To the north and east of this kingdom two German military orders, the Teutonic Knights and the Knights of the Sword, settled on the Baltic coast in the 13th century with the object of converting to Christianity the Prussians, Lithuanians, and Estonians, who were then still heathen.

The western portion of the lands of the Teutonic Knights was annexed by the king of Poland in 1466.

By the marriage of the heiress to the Polish crown with Jagello, Prince of Lithuania, 1386, the Poles and Lithuanians were united under one sovereign, and their lands stretched from the Baltic to the Black Sea.

There's no way that one can, um, reconcile that ambition and there's no way that one can imagine a grand strategy that doesn't entail some variant of that, um, whereby Germany survives.

You know, it's, um, I mean, if you want to, and, you know, keep in mind too, like, you know, you know, Prussia was populated when the Prussians conquered it.

You know, these, uh, these, these Slavic Wends, they, um There were people somewhat adjacent to, you know, the pagan Baltic tribes, you know, who some of the later crusades were waged against.

You know, this was a wild land, but, you know, there's precedent within the German cultural and military psychology for this.

It's not we hate Slavs and let's annihilate them because we hate them.

And I was glad that Sims made that point.

Now, don't get me wrong, there were, especially among the ranks of Baltic Germans, people like Rosenberg and Prussians who had been like marinated in kind of the culture of Rasmussen Creek.

I mean, because like they, that's what their people were steeped in for centuries.

And that was mostly for the Prussian population.

The Prussians were a, they weren't German.

The original Prussians were a mix of Slavic and Ugric and they were exterminated by the cold Prussians.

Anyways, so off that little bit of history lesson.

Kaliningrad is a fortress.

And it is actually true that the Reformation began to tear Europe apart before the Catholic Church had had time to pull it together.

The Prussians, for instance, were not converted to Christianity at all until quite close to the Reformation.

The poor creatures hardly had time to become Catholics before they were told to become Protestants.

This explains a great deal of their subsequent conduct.
