Old Joy

I mean, think of this.

How many movies of hers feature male protagonists? It's this, it's Night Moves, it's Old Joy.

It's Night Moves, which is also

pretty gendered.

But the men never get away with it.

Ever.

Old Joy, it doesn't feel like the relationship is kindled.

You can read it that way, but it doesn't...

But at, at its core is just, like, a, a kind of a kindness between people.

What did you think about that in this movie, in sort of contrasting that with, you know, like, the friendship in Old Joy, the working together we see in Night Moves? Like, there are elements of this in the other movies.

But, like, never to the extent where...

I think a lot of these movies are very bleak on purpose.

Yeah.

So not the same.

Old Joy, they seem to have one moment of tenderness, but then will that stay is left open-ended.

And Meek's Cutoff, you know, the real-life story, Meek ran off.

Part of that could be the length.

Maybe parts of Old Joy and Meek's Cutoff could make an argument.

But I think because of the length, this feels longer.

Despite the anthology-ness of it all.

They're pretty understated

dogs.

Compared to Old Joy, Wendy, and Lucy?

The degree to have the dedication for the dog in the film.
