Oklahoma Water Resources Board

On Wednesday, state officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and announced the majority of the $700 million renovation of the building, which was originally constructed in 1938, nearly 90 years ago, was completed after three years of work.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Oklahoma Arts Council, Oklahoma Water Resources Board, and part of the State Election Board will move back into the building later this year.

What's coming up at the Capitol in the week ahead?

More interim studies as we near the deadline for those studies to be considered by House and Senate committees.

So we have to manage where we buy our electricity, uh, and how we manage our, uh, water and how we meter that.

And so that brings me to talk about the OWRB.

What is that?

Well, the OWRB, it's actually a state agency, and they help, um, with wastewater and water infrastructure and financing.

Um, for a small municipality like us, the OWRB, it is very important.

Um, and it allows us to access funding and programs that, um, we couldn't normally access.

And it allows us to get funding without having to come up with millions of dollars up front, um, for really important projects.

Okay.
