Ojinaga

Mm-hmm

... called Ojinaga in, in this small town in Mexico.

So he went to the Chihuahua State Police Department in the city of Chihuahua to negotiate terms.

And he arrived and, like, you know, knocked on the door.

Among Mr. Poindexter's guests were former Mayor Ron Nirenberg of San Antonio, State Senator Rolan Gutierrez, a Democrat who represents a vast stretch of the border region, and State Representative Eddie Morales, also a Democrat.

Several representatives from Ojinaga, the Mexican city across the border, were also in attendance.

This has always been a cross-border community, said Mr. Poindexter, though he said he had not traveled across the border in years.
