Ohio House of Representatives

We, we like Sean a lot.

Uh, moving over to House District 72, uh, State Representative Heidi Workman, uh, also serving in her freshman term, uh, in the Ohio House of Representatives, uh, has tackled technology issues, uh, primarily.

Uh, so, you know, we're, we're seeing a lot of talk come on- online about AI-

Yeah

Uh, trying to find a, a reasonable path to deal with that topic.

Um, great candidate, great member.

Uh, had, uh, gotten here to, uh, the Ohio House of Representatives by beating a more liberal incumbent, uh, Republican in, uh, the primaries in 2024, uh, which is, uh, again, just beating an incumbent i- in general is an incredibly hard thing to do in politics.

No question.

In fact, he shot up.

I was sitting right next to him, and he shot up, and he stood up, and he said, look, We can't be having racist jokes in the Ohio House of Representatives.

I mean, you can talk about a lot of different issues and we can disagree on a lot of different things, but I will not stand for racist jokes in the Ohio House of Representatives.

He was not going to let that happen.

Senator Herschel Craig remembers Miller as a strong advocate, especially for the needs of black Ohioans.

Her career has spanned all levels of government.

She started her career in the Ohio House of Representatives.

She served as a naval intelligence officer and worked in the State Department for the embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam.

And she also taught at the U.S.

Didn't enjoy the bear markets we went through and the challenging times there, but you learn something from everything, and I certainly did there.

In 2012, I, I ran for the Ohio State House, 'cause I was involved in a lot of different things and the person stepped down, and they asked me to consider running.

And I guess, I like to say, in a weak moment I said yes and jumped into an election.

I was on the school board at the time, the local school board, so I had a little bit of taste into that.

But, um, but then joined the Ohio House.

Um, was fortunate enough a couple years in to become the finance chair, uh, which was very insightful.

I probably learned more in, in eight years in the State House than I did four years in, in Ohio State, for sure, just from the variety of topics we talked about.

And became Speaker of the House in Ohio, um, and then at term limits were coming up, and, uh, it, it felt like it was the right time for me to leave.

Anderson Clayton, who is the chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party, and some new news coming out of North Carolina that we'll wanna share with you guys.

And Ohio State Representative, Dooney Isakson, out of Cincinnati, the minority leader of the Ohio House of Representatives, will be with us in the 7:30 hour.
