There had been talks of it and developments over funding and planning for the past, you know, year or two.

But within the past month, we've talked about OHB winning 18 GEO satellites.

We've talked about Hispasat d- like, contributing a few GEO, uh, Milcom sats.

We talked about, like, 20 VLEO sats being procured, which kind of highlighted the fact that this is a very hybrid communications architecture spanning GEO to MEO to LEO, uh, to VLEO, which is very unique.

SES is doing a couple of, uh, couple of, uh, MEO birds for them as well.

Yeah.

Oh, I believe the OHB were 18 MEO sats to operate through SES.

So, uh, yeah, we've got GEO from Hispasat, MEO from OHB.

$700 million is a pretty sizable contract, and that can certainly help to bridge a lot of gaps that Blue Origin might be experiencing as they try to get New Glenn back up and as they try to repurpose Blue Ring for the Martian mission.

For an even bigger communications contract, we have OHB winning nearly 1 billion euros for the Iris Squared constellation.

So this is for the development and production of 18 satellite platforms.

So more than the one that Blue Orchid has to make.

So M-Power Constellation was supplied by Boeing, and the recently announced Neosphere Constellation is being built by K2 Space.

So I found it really interesting when they announced K2 Space because it felt like they were getting away from some of these, you know, stalwart kind of military prime contractors like Boeing.

So it's interesting that they're throwing another player in here from OHB.

This makes a little more sense since Iris Squared is meant to be a European sovereign capability and Neither Boeing nor K2 are European, but OHB is German.

And I have a third German space story.

The German Aerospace Established Company, OHB, has now been awarded... a $1.16 billion contract to build 18 IRIS-2 satellites.

IRIS-2 is the European Space Agency's, the European Union's answer to Starlink.

They want to have their own Starlink, sovereign control, but they're having the government build it.

So it's going to cost a fortune.

OHB has got a big contract to build 18 of these satellites.

It's going to have more than 300, what is it, 350 satellites in orbit, but it won't be in orbit until like 35 satellites.

So this is going to probably be obsolete by the time it's finally launched on big money, but it's government.

PLD Space adds 108 million euros to their Series C round.

Also in Europe, OHB got a 1 billion euro award to build 18 MioSats for Iris 2.

Here's the twofer of the day.

Questions remain about Musk's Louisiana deal, like A, how to pay for it and who's going to, and B, what will Louisiana do to sweeten the pot? Apparently, There's a breakthrough in material science that makes the space elevator a lot closer to reality.

They do.

That's part of the deal, isn't it? Okay.

Up next, a company called OHB has been tapped to build 18 NEO satellites for IRIS-II in a nearly €1 billion award.

And SCS was awarded that contract, so they certainly have it to spend.
