so I was just, firstly, I was seeing it everywhere and I've never really read a lot sort of the great american novels they're kind of books that i have no so i've never kind of been in my sphere i guess and i've always made a point of like trying to read a lot of british regional voices and so like i was like i actually need to read more expansively and the east of eden was just kind of a book that kept coming up i did read of mice and men at school um yeah I will

Gaby HuddartHOST

I think
Joe WicksGUEST
13:55
that was probably a choice maybe from the school at the time, but I think the next one that we did as a class was Of Mice and Men, so that was John Steinbeck, and you obviously see these characters, and it's a really well-written book as well, and the stories... kind of sad isn't it like the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry i think it's the same because they have these two brothers have this dream of like you know living a different life and then it all goes wrong and in the end it just falls apart and so there was a sadness in the book and i remember just thinking emotionally reading it and actually getting quite sad and thinking wow like i'm i'm getting moved by the words on the page and that was the first time that happened to me and then i was probably like 13 or 14 years old
Gaby HuddartHOST
