Ochratoxin A

Coffee is an agricultural crop, so it carries whatever the soil, the processing, the storage is giving it, and when the quality is poor, there are three things that end up in your cup that I actually worry about as a doctor.

The first one is mold toxins, and the main one in coffee is one called ochratoxin A. I see it across the board in so many of the mycotoxin tests that I give my patients, and I'm asking them what type of coffee they're drinking, and most of them are poor quality coffees.

And I don't want you to think that this is a harmless little thing here, okay? Because here's what the research actually shows.

It damages your kidneys.

Over time, ochratoxin A will start to damage your kidneys, especially when it's exposed over the long term at higher doses.

And the kidneys are filtering down everything that you drink, and it wears down your immune system over time.

This is your body's own defense to keep you healthy.
