Mm-hmm.

Uh, according to Dennis阿斯伯格, this OceanX explorer who's a buddy of mine, uh, it's not attached to the sea floor.

Yeah.

So it seems like this artificial structure, and there's all this anomalous electromagnetic acti- activity around it, and he, I believe lightning even struck it or struck next to it or something.

And the instruments are patient.

In June of 2011, a Swedish ocean exploration team called OceanX was conducting a commercial sonar survey of the Baltic Sea.

The Baltic is a shallow sea by oceanic standards.

Its average depth is only about 55 metres, with a maximum depth of roughly 459 metres in the landsat deep.

It is enclosed, brackish, heavily trafficked, and compared to the open ocean, relatively well studied.

OceanX was scanning the seabed with side scan sonar, a system that produces detailed images of the seafloor by dragging a sonar transducer behind a vessel and recording the acoustic returns from the bottom on both sides of the track.

The images are not photographs.

They're acoustic shadows and reflections rendered in grayscale, showing the texture and topography of the seabed in a way that can be strikingly detailed, but also strikingly ambiguous.

Or, you know, maybe we get some small scale pilots that are interesting, but they're one offs, there's no ability to replicate or scale them.

And in some cases, we get these really dark speculative visions that are framed as utopian, but that are quite dystopic in nature, like OceanX, this weird UN Peter Thiel collaboration for floating basically refugee communities out in the ocean.

Yeah.

Anything involving Peter Thiel is dystopian.
